Inas Co. Supervising Technician – Graduate of Matsue College of Technology Department of Electrical Control Engineering. Hiroto Higashi joined Inas Co. Ltd in 2006, and has been primarily responsible for software design and development. He works with a wide range of technologies, from small embedded systems to server programming, and as such is particularly skilled in selecting microcomputers, languages, and operating systems based on the characteristics of the equipment they will be employed by. He began using Ruby in 2005, and, impressed by the great degree of productivity Ruby provides, has been constantly engaged in research on how the power of Ruby can be used in the world of embedded systems.
Embedded Web-interface Framework “Alone” – Design and Implementation
More and more embedded devices offer network connectivity functions, and web interface usage has become widespread. The programming language Ruby is often used as a web application server side development language, and is very easy to use, thanks to both it’s high level of network support and from the perspective of language specifications. We wanted to use Ruby in embedded devices, and thus researched and developed a framework that could be used in them. I will present an overview of the framework we developed, and its technical contents, as well as some demonstrations of the framework itself.
